Gioia Keeney Resource Center
Our library is named after Gioia Keeney. Keeney, a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was a pillar in the Corsicana community, and her leadership on our School Advisory Council and throughout our town provided incredible support for JLCCS. It was through her efforts that our school continued to develop and grow. Through her efforts, our library has a collection of over 10,000 items including books, reference materials, videotapes, DVD’s, and software.
Library Schedule
Students in grades PreK through 4th grade visit the library each week for a library lesson or story and to check out books. Grades 5th through 8th come weekly to the library for a library lesson, research activity and to check out books. The Library is open until 4:00PM each day for AR tests, checking out books, and research.
Research
Students in all classes will have a research activity frequently when they come to the library. A second computer lab is located in the library to enhance learning and research at our school. Accelerated reading is encouraged as well. We currently have quizzes available for more than 8,000 titles. The tree house is a popular reading retreat for students.
