Testimonials
"Camp of the Pines would definitely be my favorite field trip. The missionaries made my experience the best that it could be. Camp had environmental classes where we learned about bugs, the weather, rocks, and God's love for us. Every night we went to the chapel to learn about God and to pray. The missionaries helped us learn and build up the courage to do the activities. On the climbing wall I was scared to go up another step, but my classmates and the counselors said I could do it and that gave me the courage to go up. The zip line was amazing. I had so much fun going on it with my friends. The food at camp was delicious. It is possible the best food I have ever eaten. I can't wait to go back!" - Avery (5th grader)
Camp of the Pines
Students at JLCCS go to Camp of the Pines when they are in the 5th grade and again in the 8th grade, Camp of the Pines is a Catholic retreat site that believes that young people will grow in their relationship with Jesus through their camp. The goal that the staff at Camp of the Pines has is to give youth the confidence and the strength they need to continue their faith journey and to help them foster healthy vocations. As a result of experiences at The Pines, campers come back to campus with a desire to live joyfully and to confidently build the kingdom of God.

"Our whole class had such a fun time at Camp of the Pines. The missionaries were so nice and really funny. The classes were fun and we were able to understand what all God has done for us. My favorite part of the Pines was the zip line. On the last night you are there, you go to a bonfire where you sing songs, tell stories and eat s'mores. My favorite classes were survival, solar, and archeology. My experience at Camp of the Pines was amazing, fun and exciting." - Mathew (5th grader)
